Consorcio Audiovisa Utilizes EAW Loudspeakers
For 2007 Festival Ollin Kan In Mexico
Whitinsville, MA – August 15, 2007 - The recent 2007 Festival Internacional Ollin Kan, a month-long celebration of music and dance in Mexico that culminates with massively attended outdoor shows held at Mexico City’s famed Zocalo Main Square, received top-quality sound reinforcement by leading hire company Consorcio Audiovisa S.A. de C.V. of Mexico City utilizing a variety of EAW concert loudspeakers.
This year’s version of the lively annual festival highlighted performance styles from several continents around the globe. Based upon its successful work in 2006, Consorcio Audiovisa was again selected this year to support the event with a large-scale concert sound system headed by EAW KF730 compact line arrays and EAW SB1000 subwoofers, as well as EAW LA Series loudspeakers for stage monitoring.
Owned by José Luis and Alex Morales and an ELAN (EAW Line Array Network) company, Consorcio Audiovisa deployed a total system comprised of 48 KF730 modules and 28 SB1000 subwoofers. The number and configuration of loudspeakers were tailored to each of the festival’s diverse individual venue requirements.
To insure total coverage throughout the open-air Zocalo Main Square audiences of more than 50,000, main arrays of KF730 modules flown to the left and right of the large stage were joined by more KF730 arrays posted to the very far sides of the stage, expanding coverage to the extremely wide audience area. Each full-range array was accompanied by a stack of SB1000 concert subs at ground level beneath.
"There are numerous things to like about KF730's, starting with their great response," explains Alex Morales. "They provide huge SPL from such small boxes, so the size-to-power relationship is outstanding. Further, the mid/high signature is excellent. KF730's are also very easy to transport due to their compact size and low weight, and they're really easy to fly.”
As noted, Consorcio Audiovisa was selected to supply sound and support for this year’s festival following a highly successful debut last year, one based upon providing superior service and equipment. Morales points to the KF730 as playing significant role in that strategy.
"In general, the KF730 has helped us enhance the events we work, and has opened doors to expand our client base,” he concludes. “More specifically with Festival Ollin Kan, where we have artists and engineers from so many different countries around the world, not only do the vast majority of their riders specify EAW systems, but they’re also very happy we’re able to provide them.”
