New EAW KF737 Module Brings High-Q Capabilities
To KF730 Series Line Arrays
Whitinsville, MA – June 18, 2008 - The new EAW KF737 line array module brings high-Q, longer throw capabilities to EAW KF730 Series compact line arrays, furthering their ability to deliver concert-level output and performance in an exceptionally wide range of applications.
Common applications include placement of one or more KF737 modules at the top of a KF730 array to project focused energy over long distances, and to use the KF737 as a stand-alone solution in “shoe-box” style (long, narrow) halls in order to minimize the potential of sidewall reflections.
The KF737’s three-way design incorporates two 10-inch woofers (LF), two 7-inch woofers (MF), and two 1-inch compression drivers (HF). One large MF/HF horn, providing 75-degree (h) by 12-degree (v) dispersion, fills the entire face of the KF737 enclosure, which better maintains horizontal pattern control throughout the MF/HF passband. The side-mounted LF drivers provide a forward-firing, figure-8 type pattern. The drivers are spaced so that the LF beamwidth matches the MF through crossover.
A bi-amplified power configuration (passive mid/high) reduces system cost and complexity. Processing for the arrays is intentionally simple and can be greatly enhanced with the EAW UX8800 dual-mode digital processor, which supplies proprietary Gunness Focusing™ alignment and driver processing algorithms, dramatically enhancing sonic performance.
The KF737 offers very friendly truck-pack dimensions, measuring just 13 inches (h) by 28.5 inches (w) by 17.6 inches (d), with weight at less than 75 pounds. The integral rigging system is fully compatible with the KF730 full-range module as well as the SB730 subwoofer. The versatile rigging design fosters fast construction of arrays ranging from 4 to 18 enclosures.
