Don Dodge Chooses UMX.96 For 2008 Foreigner Tour
The upcoming U.S. concert tour by legendary rock band Foreigner will feature veteran engineer Don “Dodger” Dodge providing his mix exclusively with an EAW UMX.96 digital console, revisiting the highly successful formula employed during the band’s 2007-08 world concert tour.
“Things could not have gone better with the UMX.96 console during the dozens of shows we did all over the world last year,” states Dodge. “I had previously not been a fan of digital boards, but the UMX is so good that it erased that viewpoint.
"There’s a very analog feel to the layout, and it quickly becomes an intuitive extension of the engineer’s goals for his mix,” he adds.
Foreigner kicks off its upcoming U.S. tour in California in late May, performing across the country for several months. In addition, Bryan Adams and his band are slated to join the tour as a featured act over the summer, where Dodge also expects to utilize the UMX.96.
