SF Marketing hosting SMAART Training March 9-11, 2009
SF Marketing would like to invite you to participate in their upcoming SMAART training sessions in the GTA on March 9, 10 and 11, 2009. The entire training event will be conducted at the Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities (HECFI)*. This training event will be lead by Arthur Skudra, Hamilton-based audio and video consultant.

The intensive three-day training package encompasses:
Day 1: Monday, March 9th: Time: 10 am - 6 pm
Smaart Fundamentals (Hamilton Place)
Description:
This course covers the fundamentals of setting up a Smaart measurement system and includes basic measurement
theory, Smaart basics and a tour of Smaart version 5 and version 6.

Day 2: Tuesday, March 10th: Time: 10 am - 6 pm
Smaart Applications (Hamilton Place)Description:
This course covers advanced measurement theory and applications of Smaart for loudspeaker and sound system
alignment and response optimization. In-class measurements and examples of real-world data are used to emphasize
and support the theoretical subject matter with a strong accent on measurement interpretation. (Note: students provide
their own laptop and stereo interface for interactive measurement examples).

Day 3: Wednesday, March 11th: Time: 9 am - 5 pm
Description:
This course is a hands-on application workshop in a real world venue (HECFI). Participants will get to examine and analyze a sound system in a real setting, focusing on advanced system alignment techniques and data interpretation. Participation in this advanced user seminar assumes a full working knowledge of Smaart operation.
Lunch and coffee breaks are provided on all three days.
Training participants will receive all course documentation including class notes upon arrival on Day #1.
Course Attendees - It is preferable that you bring a laptop to the course with SMAART already installed as well as an audio interface capable of accepting line-level stereo signals via XLR connector or 1/8” TRS. We will provide the measurement signals for participants' computers via a stereo signal distribution system.
The cost of the course is $450 for 2 days or $600 for 3 days. Please confirm your presence before Monday, March 2, 2009 by emailing Louise Véronnea (louise.veronneau@sfm.ca.) and requesting a registration form.
