Avalon by EAW at Winter Music Conference 2012

Avalon by EAW CLUB.two mains at the Delano Hotel PooleNow that Winter Music Conference 2012 is over, we can talk about the fabulous events at the prestigious Delano Hotel that we were able to help support. The Delano’s Beach Club pool parties are the stuff of legend in Miami, and now Avalon by EAW is legend, too.

Avalon by EAW is a collaboration between EAW and John Lyons, world-renowned club designer and owner. Through John Lyons, we connected with the Delano Hotel, where John Lyons Systems is rehabbing the installed sound system comprising some 30-odd sets of a UB82 over an SB250 — WP weatherproof versions, of course.

The upper photo (courtesy of the Delano) shows _half_ of the main dance floor system. We send a total of four CLUB.two mains – these two in Polar white and Machine grey plus two more in Piano black and Siren red – as well as two CLUB.three’s to use as DJ monitors. Each main had a pair of SB2001′s for subs for a total of eight. The lower photo (courtesy of Soul of Miami) shows Benny Benassi on the DJ stand with a CLUB.three at his side. Each stood on an SB850.

When we committed to delivering an Avalon by EAW sound system to the Delano for their WMC events, we had no idea who the performers would be. Mr. Lyons just said, “Don’t worry; they’ll be great.”

“Great”, it turns out, was an understatement.

The list of world-class DJs who performed on the Avalon by EAW system reads like a Who’s Who of the dance music scene. Pete Tong, Benny Benassi, Miike Snow, Groove Armada and Luciano - who turns out to be a dyed-in-the-wool audio geek that has no problem talking tech with an EAW engineer – were just a few of the notables to play on our latest dance club systems.

This was the glitterati’s biggest night at WMC, and yours truly was giddy like a teenage girl at the thought of Avalon by EAW being there. The photo at left of Madonna co-producer and DJ legend Benny Benassi is from that party. SQUEEEEEE!

Thank you, John Lyons. Thank you, Delano Hotel and Morgans Hotel Group. Thank you, Luciano, Benny Benassi, Pete Tong, Miike Snow, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Groove Armada and the dozens of other artists who played at the Delano last week. Thank you for making electronic dance music such an exciting space in which to work. We’re thrilled to be a part of it!
