KF740s to Power Paramount Theater’s HeadlineActs – Avalon by EAW™ to Destroy Neumos
We’ve just sent out a press release announcing that Eastern Acoustic Works® (EAW™) will deliver sound reinforcement solutions for two key venues at the Decibel Festival™, an annual electronic music event held in Seattle, Washington, USA. EAW’s KF740 line array system will serve as front-of-house PA for Decibel’s headline events in the acoustically notorious Paramount Theater. EAW will partner with Las Vegas-based Hall Audio Systems, the first-ever EAW Red Certified™ Company. Separately, EAW’s Application Support Group will install a temporary Avalon by EAW™ dance club system in Neumos, where VIP parties will proceed five nights of performance sets and after parties. The release was sent out to EAW’s current editorial media list. If you are a journalist or editor and would like to receive our press releases, please email EAW PR.
We’ve just sent out a press release on a top-level installation by Acoustic Dimensions and Ford A/V at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. SWBTS is a highly-regarded training institution, and they’ve recently built a new chapel that includes a high-powered audio/video component to give students real world experience in contemporary service. While natural speech reproduction came foremost as always in house of worship work, the QX-based design is more than substantial enough for modern, faith-based music.
Thanks to Casey Sherred at Acoustic Dimensions and Jon Pidgeon at Ford A/V for their help with this press release.

We all know that acoustical consultants don’t often lavish praise on manufacturers, but our work to build and deliver over 600 loudspeakers for an NFL stadium project - many of them custom-engineered – on an extremely tight timeline inspired the following from Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon, Williams (WJHW) consultant Mark Graham:
“When we say EAW delivered, we mean that literally. We (WJHW) didn’t even come on board until last October, when the design process began, so the window for manufacturing, customization and delivery was even tighter.”
The EAW factory in Whitinsville produced almost all of the loudspeakers in the month of May, setting a new, all-time high for total number of WP weatherproof enclosures produced in a month.
The photo shows one of the custom-engineered systems, the TT212 dual 12-in steering LF system mounted just behind a partially visible QX Series system at far left. The TT212, which uses a variant of the MK2300 Series enclosure, creates an end-fired array to project LF energy into the listening area and away from the wall.
The EAW House of Worship Technology Tour continues through the Southeast USA, thanks to our tour guides Quest Marketing and the churches that are hosting the events.
The photo shows ASG Director Jerrold Stevens presenting the evening session at the Mount Paran Church in Atlanta. From the look of the slide, he appears to be discussing cardioid array techniques for LF pattern control. The tour wraps up on Thursday at the Southpoint Community Church in Jacksonville, FL. EAW’s Summer 2012 House of Worship Technology Tour got off to a successful start on Tuesday outside Nashville, TN. The first event, held at First Baptist Church in Joelton – a Nashville suburb, attracted acoustical consultants and designers, system integrators and installation contractors and house of worship technology staff.
The tour is the brain-child of EAW US Regional Sales Manager/East Scott Pizzo. Scott presented along with ASG’s Installed Systems Manager Adam Shulman (top left photo), who will also cover today’s event in Kernersville, NC in the Triad region between Greensboro and Winston-Salem. ASG Director Jerrold Stevens will join Scott for events next week in Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL.
The photo at bottom left shows the set-up including products from the MK, VFR and QX Series. Not shown but on-site for demo: NTL720 and Microwedge stage monitors.
EAW and Quest Marketing are holding a House of Worship Technology Tour in four cities over the next few weeks. This tour consists of product demonstrations of EAW QXi Series, MicroWedge, MKi Series, NTL720, and VF Series products …all heard through EAW UX8800 processors, a DiGiCo SD Series digital console, and Powersoft amplifiers. These are events are not simple “sales demos,” but rather a technology demonstration to show you and your staff what level of quality can be expected with the latest in audio reproduction technology.
This educational seminar will include presentations on “Choosing the Correct Loudspeaker for Your Application” and “Optimizing Your Monitor Rig” given by EAW’s Application Support Group Installed Systems Manager Adam Shulman (Nashville & Kernersville), and Jerrold Stevens, Director of ASG (Atlanta & Jacksonville). EAW’s US Sales Manager/East Scott Pizzo will attend all four events.
This seminar brings together church technical staff for a night of fun, informative education and to discuss possible solutions for their real-world audio situations. In addition to the presentations, there will be an informal Q & A session among the factory personnel and audio professionals to discuss solutions for your application.
The event is divided into two time slots. In the afternoon is a consultant…
EAW dealers and distributors in Asia have recently completed a tremendous number of exciting projects. Here are some highlights from around the region. We don’t have complete information yet, but look for these stories in trade publications in the months to come.
In the wake of the tragic stampede and riot at the ill-fated Metallica concert that was to open the inaugural Formula 1 race weekend in India, Lady Gaga’s post-race concert came off without a hitch. A KF Series line array system powered the stage, although we have yet to determine exactly the mix of KF740 vs KF760 system used.
Even though she is nearly 80, Asha Bhosle commands a massive audience in India. The grande dame of “playback singers“, Asha has a long list of non-Bollywood hits as well. She is the “Asha” from Cornershop’s 1997 smash hit A Brimful of Asha. She performed in through a KF740 system to an audience of approximately 200,000.
From November 11 – 13, the Great Indian Octoberfest Rock Festival will bring an estimated 10 million fans to Bangalore for a non-stop weekend of fun and music. Of the two main stages, one is powered by an EAW KF740 array and…
