Eurohire Sound and Light, a long established turnkey supplier for Europe’s events and entertainments industries, recently expanded its EAW® inventory with the addition of 16 KF740 Three-Way Line Array Modules. The Basingstoke, Hampshire, England-based company is the latest professional sound and lighting company in the U.K. to add the KF740 modules to its extensive inventory of products, which also includes EAW KF760/KF761 Line Array Modules, KF850 Series Virtual Array™ Modules, KF853 Three-Way Virtual Array Modules, SB850z High-Output Subwoofers, BH853 Virtual Array LF Systems, SB250z Medium-Format Subwoofers, MicroWedge Series MW15 and MW12 Stage Monitors, and UX8800 Digital Signal Processors.

LOUD Technologies Inc. (“LOUD”) today appointed Jeff Rocha, Vice President and General Manager, EAW and Anthony Taylor, Vice President and Managing Director, Martin Audio. In these newly expanded roles, Rocha and Taylor will assume P&L responsibility for their respective brand, as well as manage all engineering, product development, marketing, manufacturing and sales efforts. In addition, Rocha will lead the EAW design and manufacturing facility in Whitinsville, USA, while Taylor will lead the Martin Audio design and manufacturing facility in High Wycombe, UK.

Peak Hire Ltd., based in Cheltenham in Gloucester, England, continues to expand its EAW® inventory with the addition of 18 KF740 Three-Way Line Array Modules. The announcement was made by Peak Hire Managing Director Karl Ashman and signifies the first U.K. order of the critically acclaimed sound reinforcement module. Barcelona, Spain-based production sound company FOCUS, S.A. provided a massive EAW® speaker system for the tens of thousands of people who recently turned out to witness Pope Benedict XVI consecrate the city’s renowned La Sagrada Familia church. FOCUS deployed the system, which included nearly 150 KF730 Compact Line Array Modules plus dozens of other EAW speakers. The system was powered by Lab.gruppen amplification with speaker management by EAW UX8800 and Lake LM 26 digital signal processors, in the main Plaza Gaudí and throughout the streets in the surrounding area.
The EAW speakers deployed at the Plaza Gaudí included 24 KF760 Long-Throw Line Array Modules, eight KF730 Compact Line Array Modules, eight KF650 Compact Array Loudspeakers and four KF750 High Output Array Loudspeakers, all under the control of four UX8800 Digital Signal Processors. For additional coverage, including delays, FOCUS provided 24 KF760, 24 KF750, 28 KF650 and 68 JFX260i Compact Full-Range Loudspeakers, all managed by a 21 UX8800 processors.

The BAM (Barcelona Acciò Musical) Festival, which runs concurrently with the Spanish city’s traditional La Mercè celebrations, attracted 120,000 music fans last year to a jam-packed schedule of free, mostly open-air concerts throughout the downtown area. This year’s 18th annual BAM Festival included a host of European and American rock, hip-hop and dance artists, such as Goldfrapp, OK Go, Anti-Pop Consortium, Belle & Sebastian and El Guincho, and featured substantial Lab.gruppen-powered EAW® P.A. systems on the MTV-BAM and Electro-BAM stages at the Parc del Fòrum.
