| Tuned Dipolar Array Bass System

These LF loudspeakers are each designed to complement the MQ1300 and MQ2300 models. They are engineered as tuned dipolar arrays where pairs of vertically separated woofers receive separate signal processing. The processing extends beamwidth control to lower frequencies and matches the pattern of the MF/HF horns, thus attenuating undesired off-axis LF energy. The physical separation of the LF drivers would normally cause undesirable lobing at frequencies near the LF/MF crossover. However, the engineered processing allows only the closest spaced drivers to function at crossover. The result is a consistently well-behaved vertical beamwidth that does not require gigantic bass horns or enclosures.
