Sound systems designed for almost any application benefit from the addition of a subwoofer. Sophisticated sound system designers realize that even the female voice includes undertones in the sub bass region. Truly natural reproduction of both speech and music requires that the sound system's output extend into the lowest octaves of the audible spectrum. Yet the tremendous length of low frequency sound waves (56 feet, 6 inches at 20 Hz) places intense demands on every element of the loudspeaker system.
The SB Series of sub bass systems provide scalable solutions to the problems of extending low frequency response. Each system employs optimal venting which uses the resonance of the enclosure to maximize low frequency response by minimizing cone excursion and the resulting distortion. Professionals have described the SB systems' performance as "tight," even at the lowest frequencies. All systems enjoy high power handling capabilities. MX Series Close Coupled Processing provides optimum integration of SB subwoofers into the total system.
SB Series systems range in size from a compact dual 8-in system (SB48) to massive dual 18's (SB528, SB850, SB1000e). Some systems are designed around Virtual Array principles to integrate with KF Series full range VA systems.
