UMX.96 User Interface
The master section combines a bright, 15-inch touch screen and an Intelligent Encoser with Adaptive Feel that changes based on specific parameters selected via the touch screen. A laptop computer can also be connected to further expand the UMX.96 user interface. Further, because live performance situations are fraught with potential disaster, the “Selected Channel” section is always online and tied to the embedded audio mixer. So you can still mix even if the internal computer touch screen or encoder fails. |

MASTER SECTION
Simply touch any parameter on the screen, and the encoder will change its “feel” to provide the tactile feedback appropriate to parameter – for example, a 4-position switch when selecting an EQ slope, or a knob with hard stops both left and right with center detent when controlling pan, or a continuous smooth feel for fine EQ frequency adjustment.

CHANNEL SECTION
The UMX.96 features 48 physical channel faders – more than any mixer in its class. Each eight-channel section features 100mm touch-sensitive motorized Penny+Giles™ faders with 1024-step resolution, as well as backlit mute and solo buttons. |

CHANNEL ASSIGN BUTTON, V-POT AND SCRIBBLE-STRIP
A multicolor assign button, virtual potentiometer (V-Pot) and scribble strip access the full range of channel assign and adjustment options. Users can adjust and assign virtually any input or output to any other creating complex Aux, Group, Effects, Mains, and VCA groups. Mute groups and mic preamplifier setups are fast and simple.
Additionally, every channel is equipped with high-resolution 6-segment channel meters, plus gate and comp reduction LEDs for instant visual feedback. Each group of 8 channels has an associated 55-character by 2-character scribble strip that displays the custom channel name and V-Pot information using black text on a brightly backlit white background for maximum contrast in both daytime and nighttime/indoor lighting conditions. (Consider it a high-tech replacement for the white artist’s tape normally used for this function.)

BANK SELECT & MASTER BANK SELECT
With 48 physical channels, 2 user banks and configurable master banks, the
UMX.96 requires far less bank switching than other digital consoles. Operators can create custom mixing environments depending on individual needs and dedicated VCA and main faders keep everything an engineer needs close at hand at all times. |
