Oriole Park at Camden Yards
Challenge:
Oriole Park at Camden Yards needed to update their sound system. The problem was that opening day was a mere five months away from the bid and, once awarded, there would be only four months to complete the install. System designers, SIA Acoustics, had a plan in place, but it was EAW who needed to modify existing loudspeaker designs to accommodate the unique architectural features of Oriole Park. This meant design, production and delivery in nearly half of the normal timeframe for a project of this magnitude.
Solution:
AV integration company, AVI-SPL specified a large number of EAW cabinets. The weather-protected AX364-WP would take care of upper and lower deck, MK2394-WP’s could cover some difficult fill areas and customized, weather-protected FX100i (based off the popular JFX100i) loudspeakers could handle the club level. An EAW UX8800 provided focused settings for the system.
Outcome:
In just four months from the order day, the completely new sound system was ready for opening day. ”Working with EAW to complete the Oriole Park installation made the process easy for us,“ stated Sam Berkow of SIA Acoustics. ”EAW and our contracting team, SPL, worked out an initial schedule for delivery, in order to meet a tough installation timetable, and they met every deadline - with products we could rely on right out of the box.“
