The Application Support Group (ASG) is EAW’s multifaceted technical assistance team offering a wide range of specialized services to our rep firms, dealers/distributors, and customers of EAW and EAW Commercial products.

The ASG team includes four sound system designers, three phone technical support specialists, and a special projects coordinator. When contacting ASG (contact info below), please be as specific as possible about the nature of services you are seeking. Phone technical support specialists answer basic technical and product questions, help troubleshoot installed systems, and triage service related calls. The special projects coordinator works closely with rep firms and the EAW Sales Group on built-to-order products (BTO) and deviation orders. Sound system designers offer a host of services, including:
Loudspeaker Design
- EASE® modeling showing loudspeaker coverage, sound pressure level, speech intelligibility (if applicable), and loudspeaker aiming and location data (if applicable).
- Suggested amplifier power ratings for designed performance. (No specific brand is specified unless it is an EAW amplifier.)
- Presentation ready design package including model name, part numbers and quantity, EASE snapshots and system performance statistics. (Does not include pricing.)
Loudspeaker Recommendations
- Suggested EAW models, quantities, and power handling. (Ideal for projects not requiring a full design, where supporting documentation is not available, and/or for projects on very tight timeframes.)
Specification Review
- A cross-referenced performance specification comparison between EAW models and other manufacturer products for bid specs and designs.
Design Review
- Confirmation of EAW loudspeaker system designs as done by others. (Requires completed EASE model or design documentation.)
NOTE: Any and all projects designed by audio/acoustical consultants and submitted by other parties are not eligible for these services.
All projects are scheduled on a “first come/first serve” basis, based upon the receipt of a completed Design Request Form (available by contacting ASG) and the supporting project documents. These include scale drawings of floor plan with seating and internal elevations, paper blueprints (will not be returned), electronic blueprints, AutoCAD files (2000/2004 format). All hand drawings must be to scale or have all dimensions clearly noted. Design work starts upon receipt of completed DRF and drawings.
What is NOT offered by ASG
- Pricing: Contact an authorized EAW Dealer or visit Sales to locate the sales representative in your area.
- Parts/service manuals: Contact the EAW Parts Department at 425.402.6224.
- Complete sound system design packages: ASG provides “back end” system design support for EAW products only (loudspeakers/processors/power amplifiers). Design support for power amplifiers, cabling, rigging, consoles, microphones and any other system components should be handled by the requesting party and/or referred to a qualified dealer/consultant.
- Acoustical consulting: Contact a qualified acoustics design consultant.
- Creation of design specification for purpose of bidding: Contact a qualified acoustical and/or audio consultant.
- Rigging design: Contact a qualified structural engineer or rigging manufacturer.
- Third-party processor settings for EAW product: Processor settings for all EAW products are available on the EAW website. Contact specific processor manufacturers for technical support regarding the operation of the processor.
