Close Coupled Processing ™
Close Coupled Processing™ takes the EAW passive crossover/filter design philosophy and applies it to active signal processing. Using the same iterative design approach used for our passive crossover/filter design, Close Coupled Processing generates unique, asymmetrical electronic filter sets. These DSP configurations are custom tailored - i.e. Close Coupled - to the actual requirements and performance of the loudspeaker being controlled. With this technique, our Close Coupled Processors can control single, bi-amplified, or tri-amplified loudspeakers as well as integrating full-range loudspeakers with subwoofers.
Because electronic and digital processors are more flexible than passive networks, the level of integration CCP can achieve is greater than can be achieved with passive networks. For this reason, our Closed Coupled Processor settings are not interchangeable. Using a CCP setting to control a loudspeaker other than what it was configured for will degrade performance and could cause damage or failure. EAW provides a variety of Close Coupled Electronic Processors and a Close Coupled Digital Processor to control or integrate a variety of EAW loudspeakers.
