Close Coupled Power Module™ (CCPM)
EAW self-powered loudspeakers (E-Powered Series) utilize Close Coupled Processing ™ for system-specific amplification. Each EAW Close Coupled Power Module™ (CCPM) is custom designed for a specific loudspeaker model. This provides complete optimization of the signal path, including signal processing, system protection, amplification, transducers, horns, and enclosure tuning.
Unlike other self-powered loudspeakers whose protection circuitry is actuated by a time-sampling sensor, our Close Coupled Power Modules continuously monitor the LF/MF and HF channels while concurrently reading output load and voltage in real time. This allows gradual application of complex compressor/limiters, soft clipping circuitry, and sliding high pass filters. Even when driven to peak output levels, end-users have difficulty audibly determining if the protection circuitry is engaged, and must rely on the indicator lights for affirmation.
