EAW Applauds San Francisco’s Nitey Award Winners
For the second year in a row, San Francisco’s nightlife industry glitterati piled into the historic Castro Theatre for an evening of self-congratulatory, boozy bombast. They came to toast each other, roast each other, and hand out 23 Nitey Awards—local nightlife honors judged by a panel of “industry professionals.”
When the crowd split to the after party and the dust had settled, establishments featuring Eastern Acoustic Works® (EAW®) sound systems had claimed three out of six awards given to live music venues. No other audio company represented more than one of the venue award winners. All winning sound systems were installed by San Francisco’s JK Sound.
• Mighty, which relies on EAW Avalon Club. Two and Sub.Two cabinets for its sound, won for Best Large Dance Club.
• Local indie-rock institution The Bottom of the Hill won for Best Small Live Venue, and rocks its patrons on a nightly basis through its EAW ASR and JFX Series speakers.
• Beaux, which coincidentally hosted the evening’s popular after-party, took the prize for Best New Venue. There, the Nitey Awards attendees partied into Friday morning to the sounds of an EAW RS66, a custom-designed system made especially for JK Sound to use as a smaller alternative to the QX566.
EAW would like to congratulate the winners and other nominees that use EAW systems, including Amnesia, Harlot, Infusion, Rickshaw Stop and Ruby Skye, and is proud to supply foggy San Francisco nights with crystal clear sound.
